Step up in your responses of Love and don’t be afraid of taking leaps of faith. The culture of faith values risk rather than the comfort of disobedience. Continue to be faithful to the small things and God will entrust us with more. He rewards the faithful one who invests their time, resource, and energy wisely. The question is, “Can we really handle 24/7 right now if we are entrusted with 300 other staffs? What kind of examples of faith are we portraying to them if they’re here?
Do everything as you would unto the Lord and do it with joy. God loves a cheerful giver because He is seeking after the ones conformed in the image of His Son.
If you’re leading worship/prayer, teaching, sending out email updates, and doing the things that may seem small, do it all as you would unto the Lord. Lead worship/prayer/teaching, come on time, and do it well. Have your heart prepared. Do practical things, like preparing for a message well with all research done, and do it so well that God can do everything and anything if you do your part. If God wants you to share a different message even though you have been preparing one for three weeks, then share what God placed in your heart. If you’re leading worship, practice your scales at home. If you’re enjoying it, your heart is probably in the right place. If you don’t find joy in it, stop doing altogether and get your heart fixed. Don’t do anything half-heartedly but present your best offering of worship with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. You’re called to be an audience of One, and you’re called to please God rather than men. What will be the mark of your life? Is it freedom in self-control or is it liberty without love?
Freedom is not being able to do whatever you want but it is self-control over what you want to do. You do have the choice to be at home and come late, but responses in the lifestyle of discipline and honor to each other and to God brings glory to God. Remember to honor and show your support of Love for one another by being on time to prayer/school/teaching/leadership meeting, even if you’re not the one doing it. I’m not talking so much about being on time, I’m addressing about the heart of faithfulness to the measure that God has given to us and also our calling. One of you can’t come on time simply because God calls you to serve your family as a priority and drive your mom home after her work each day.
Jesus doesn’t want the measure of someone else’s gifting in your life but YOUR measure. He says, “Love the Lord your God with all of YOUR heart…” Put in your all and your widow’s one cent, and that’s what He is celebrating over.
Also, faithfulness is not repetition but immediate obedience and diligence in the worship and fear of God. Faithfulness can take on the form of repetition but it is not the complete image. Faithfulness will open up the door for encountering God, just like hearing the word of God produces faith to God. Jesus Christ is the Faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, and He doesn’t stop interceding either because that is His calling. There are times He calls you to repetition, but there are times when He just wants you to be away with Him.
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.” Moses’ faith looked like the raising up of the staff. Abraham’s faith looked like walking to an unknown land. Jesus’ faith (1 Tim 1:14 “And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.”) looked like enduring the pain on the cross to guarantee a pure and spotless Bride. The fruit of faith looks like something and they are the deeds in your life. What are you sowing into? This is what you will reap.
