Update on Tammy Dao

God has been so good to me in so many ways, and I’m so privileged to be used in this way. LoveHOP and I just came back home from a prayer-walk for CSULB with Christian clubs from Campus Crusade for Christ, Destino, Epic, Korean Campus Crusade for Christ, and also the Navigators. It was a powerful time of prayer where over possibly 50 students and leaders came to see Jesus Christ lifted up in their campus. I was honored to be able to lead one of the prayer teams around the campus for a prayer walk.

Besides that, my heart is growing to see God move more, especially to see the power of the blood of Jesus shared to the lost. I desire to see the gospel of the power of God shared to the ones that are buried in the sorrow of this world, and I just want to go out and to even pretend to sip on coffee/slushi so I can strike a conversation with someone nearby.

This burning came from a place of being broken over my friend who was involved in an intense “Christian” cult that completely destroyed his family and his perspective of God. This desire also burned in me as I build relationship with my friend who has multiple personality disorder. I remember crying and weeping in prayer for her after I walked out as she struggled to tell me, “This is not me.” God has led me to break off territorial spirits off nations, do numerous deliverances for people, I even teach people how to do it, but yet I haven’t seen these ones completely delivered. It all brings me back to my knees in prayer. God help us. We cannot do anything without you. I must see them restored and delivered soon. I need more of God, and we need more and all of God.

Recently, a week ago or so, I was able to speak to a young freshman from a campus. She was wailing and weeping in desperation because she had an abortion. Her parents do not know, and she couldn’t afford to share it to anyone so she drowned it out in alcohol that day. She seemed fine in the pretense of the laughter from the alcohol, but when it began rubbing off, her mask uncovered. It seemed like it was so recent when I heard her wailing because the pain seemed so fresh. Phrases of, “It scars my soul” hits me so hard to reach out to her with the Love of God. However, after finally being able to talk to her half-drunken state, she shared with me that the death of her baby has haunted her for over a year. She felt the shame of being a murderer and also she doesn’t know how to ever forgive herself. I was able to talk to her about Jesus Christ and share to her the power that is able to forgive her sins and also heal her emotionally. She gladly accepted Christ into her life. I prayed for the filling of the Holy Spirit in her life, and she was able to stop hyperventilating and fall asleep soon after. Please pray for her. Her names means “pretty.”

The past few months, my days have looked like classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays as I share on Love, Word, and Power for about two hours, leading corporate prayers, sharing on some Sundays for church, administrate the functioning of LoveHOP, and talking on conference calls and others. I have prayers that I lead throughout the week that lasts from two to six hours, depending upon how long God wants us to stay with Him, on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays/Saturdays. My favorite part is being able to share about the Kingdom of God and God just shows up in our class, and we just stay there in awe of God. We have such a good time with each other and with the Lord. Besides that, I absolutely love being able to see my students grow in God. They are getting dreams, visions, and also words of prophecy for the Body of Christ and also for non-believers. They are operating in the Power of God, hungry to grow deeper in the revelation of the Word of God, and they are falling more in Love with God. That’s so fun, isn’t it? It makes my heart burn more for Him as I watch them burn, too.

Also, our prayer meetings have been so amazing because we get to encounter the heart of God for His people and also for the lost. Recently, we have been pressing in and contending for unity in our churches that we go to and also in our campus and in the Greater Long Beach area. We felt the tangible heart of God in how He feels when His church gets disunited, and we weep for change. We believe God hears our prayers, and He is answering them. It’s just a matter of time when we see them realized in a greater scale.

From LoveHOP Academy, we have also asked several of the dozen graduating students into staff. So we have five new staffs, and they are the most amazing bunch ever! I look at this picture, and it makes me so happy to be able to run with these burning ones. The best of all is that we are just really friends.

God has definitely been with us so strongly, and He guides us in everything so nothing is taking so much by surprise. There is nothing that He do without first revealing it to His prophets (Amos 3:7). Even the persecutions that we are facing were shown beforehand and their intensity. My heart has been at peace in answering questions with as much honor as possible and giving everyone the benefit-of-the-doubt in times of opposition. I also pray and bless them, and try to figure out how to love on the ones who don’t seem to like us when they tell others to stay away from us. I really see it as an opportunity to show God’s love, and it’s meant to happen when you follow God. When people call us a cult, I tell them that we are either in the right place or that we’re not. We’re hot or cold, but we are definitely not lukewarm. However, there are times when I do just cry because of all misunderstandings and broken relationships. But, I don’t regret following where God went and where He is going.

Recently, I had a dream about division. The dream was about this man who went throughout the school to try to kill everyone off with a machine gun. He took me out by the collar at the end, and he tried to wrestle with me to shoot me in the head. However, in the middle of the struggle for survival, God spoke to me saying his intention is for me to kill him. So I told him, “I’m not going to kill you.” Afterward, he began crying. The police officers came and took care of the situation. I woke up realizing that the goal of division is for us to try to kill one another in the end. However, when we respond in Love, the plans of restoration of deeper heart-issues get unleashed over their lives.

Besides all of the things that I’m doing, from trying to finish the media kit to assemble the Greater Long Beach area for 24/7 house of prayer to doing deliverances, I don’t want to be lost in the busy-ness of ministry. I constantly try to do a heart-check, and nothing seems better than simply sitting at the feet of Jesus to learn of Him and to know Him in a deeper way. I have also been getting this song stuck in my head, “There’s going to be a wedding and the reason that I’m living is to marry the Lamb.” I don’t want to be relevant nor popular. I just want to worship God.

By the way, if you didn’t know, I have been in full-time ministry since April of 2010. God has been taking such good care of me, and He has given me everything I need even though my family do get wearied and tell me to get a job at times. Hehe. But thank you for your prayers. If there is anything I need right now, I think I would really like to get out of the United States and be away for a time with God and catch some good fish, not figuratively speaking.

God bless you and may He cause His face to shine upon you,

Tammy Dao

Time To Rise and Shine, Church!

Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. -Romans 13:11-14

About three weeks ago, God gave me another dream:

In that dream I set my cell phone alarm to wake up at 6:45am. The alarm went off at that time and I woke up in my dream. I began to walk around and saw people that I was close to spiritually before I became fully committed to LoveHOP. All these people had different times and swore they each had the right time. So much confusion was going on and I became confused myself. I began to think that I had the wrong time but I didn’t know who to turn to because everyone had different times. I then yelled “It’s 6:45 people! Change your times!!” After I did that, everyone began changing their watches and clocks. Then the dream ended.

I feel the dream represents many who profess to be part of the Body of Christ and the state they are in. They simply do not know the times and seasons right now. Many are currently blind and deaf to what the Spirit is saying to the Church. Many are building up their own religious institutions and promoting their own man-made agendas in the Name of Jesus rather than promoting the Kingdom agenda. Along with that comes a toleration of loose living, immorality, and unrepentance of willfull sin. Prayerlessness abounds and the worship of God is not a priority. Many need to simply wake up and discern the age!

We need to be like the men of Issachar “who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do” (1 Chronicles 12:32). Because the men of Issachar understood the age they were in, they knew what to do when they went to war. Beloved, NOW is the time to submit ourselves to what the Sovereign Spirit of God wants to do in this age. This is a cry to the Church- LAY DOWN YOUR AGENDAS FOR THE SAKE OF THE KINGDOM. Don’t try to build up your own church name but surrender to what God wants to do.

But what kind of age are we in?

Luke 21:25-28 states:

“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

For the past few months we have experienced and increase of activity in the natural realm. Earthquakes, tsunamis, floods as well as fear around the world. All these signs point close to the coming return of Christ who will establish His kingdom here on earth. But as this world grows darker, the Light that we haveMUST shine brighter and brighter. There is hope!

Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the LORD will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
And nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.
 -Isaiah 60:1-3

Revival is here!!!

The beginning of the greatest awakening the world has ever seen is stirring up. Revival fires are being lit and it’s about to rumble. Are we aware of what’s going on right now or are we still caught up in the same ol’ same ol’? Are we ready? Are we able to recognize the move of God when it hits our churches/communities?

What must we do now?

The answer is found in Matthew 25:1-12:

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

In this parable regarding the age in we are living right now, which are the End Times, there were ten brides waiting for the bridegroom. Half were described as wise and the other hald were considered foolish. The bride represents the type of people who profess to be believers. The bridegroom which represents Christ somehow “delayed” his coming. Then there was a cry at an hour they were asleep. The ones who were wise WOKE UP and lighted their lamps with the oil they had. The ones who were foolish ran out of oil and were ill-prepared for the bridegroom’s coming. The ones who had the oil were ready to be with the Lord and the ones who didn’t have the oil were shut out…

What does the oil represent and how do we buy our own?

The oil represents intimacy with God. Oil was what was used to light the lamp. If we are to be the “light of the world” we must prioritize intimacy with God throughprayer and worship. Too often, we are going around being “busy” for God but achieving nothing. Now is the time to love Him and allow Him to love us. He wants to be with us. He wants our eyes fixed on Him during this time. He wants us to be awakened from our spiritual sleep and to focus our gaze upon Him. And as our hearts are fixed on Him, He will speak to us and direct us in what to do during this age.

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” -Acts 13:2. As we set our minds and hearts to worship God, the Holy Spirit will speak and direct us. We, the Church must go back to the roots of adoration of Jesus!

Jesus, awaken Your Bride to see what Your Spirit is doing in this age. May we arise and shine for Your light has come upon us. Let us be ready for what You are beginning to do in this age!

Southeast Asia Trip 2007/2008

In 2007, God led me to take a friend to Southeast Asia (Jason Poon) with Joshua Bui as we were welcome to come to minister to the Assembly of God believers in the summer. We were able to share on the prophetic and also did a prayer initiative in the center of the country. God used us to see physical healings, people come into their destinies, and many youths felt renewed and called back to come back to their first love again. We were also able to share prophetic words of encouragement to the people in the Highlands.

In 2008, I took a small team (Echo Lau, An Dao, Annie Nguyen, Thao Bang) with Joshua Bui to Southeast Asia, and we had an opportunity to minister to the awesome believers within the Assembly of God denomination. In one youth group, the youths went from twelve to growing to over seventy-five after we were able to sow into some of their lives the importance of prayer and also as we trained the youths in the prophetic all throughout the country. We also had our friend, Echo Lau, who led the healing seminar for inner healing. Many lives were changed as they felt empowered to impact their friends and the people within their sphere of influence. I am looking forward to the time when God leads me back to the 1040 window soon!

Sophie Scholl: A Reformer & the Lessons for Today

I just finished reading the book, “Sophie Scholl: The Real Story of the Woman who Defied Hitler.” (I don’t think that’s the best title to describe Sophie Scholl.) Not many Americans know about Sophie Scholl but she is a very popular icon in Germany today. In November 2003, the German TV channel ZDF conducted a nationwide poll of viewers in a series called “Greatest Germans,” and among them were Hans and Sophie Scholl. They came in fourth place together, ahead of Bach and Albert Einstein. She is undoubtedly dubbed as the greatest woman in Germany. And in 2005, the German film “Sophie Scholl: The Final Days” was nominated for “Best Foreign Film” at the 2006 Academy Awards. So this is the short-story version of one of my heroes, a 21-year-old who stood against the norm of a society and died for her religious, political, and social beliefs during WWII in a resistance called, “The White Rose.”

THE FALSE BELIEFS ABOUT HITLER:

As I read into history about Adolf Hitler in general, something that the author pointed out was Hitler did not come in as an “evil dictator” as American history would usually depict him but one that many citizens looked up to for help during an economic crisis. Many people, including Sophie and Hans Scholl, viewed Hitler as a good man with good intentions to help the Fatherland but their father, Robert Scholl- a politically involved mayor, detested him. Robert hated everything that Hitler stood for and believed that Hitler would lead the people into disaster and his propagandas, such as the Hitler Youth, were a disguise for his own political and social agendas. Several years later Hitler began to show his true intentions through bills and legislations, such as the Enabling Act in 1933 (the Enabling Act allowed Hitler to issue his own laws and decrees without the need of endorsement from parliament), that would eventually give him much power to control the country and its directions even with very little manpower through the Gestapo in the beginning of his reign.

THE HITLER YOUTH AND THE NAZIS:

On a side note, I want to talk about the Nazis real quick and its target toward the youths in Germany! The Nazis made huge efforts to win over the youths. Adolf was 43 when he became a German chancellor. Most of the leading figures in his Nazi elite were under forty and the average age of the Nazi Party members was below thirty. The leader of the Hitler Youth and a member of the Cabinet, Baldur von Schirach, was only twenty-five years old! This was one of the statements that Hitler made in a speech to the 1935 Nuremberg rally: “We must bring up a new type of human being, men and girls, who are DISCIPLINED and HEALTHY to the core.”

Sophie was part of the Hitler Youth and her brother Hans was one of the regional leaders for it. The Hitler Youth can be seen as a stepping stone before the future membership of the elite group, the SS (Schultzstaffel), and the organization would teach much of the Nazis doctrines that included discrimination against some of the following: Jews, communists, Jehovah’s Wtinesses, religious and political dissidents, homosexuals, prostitutes and the mentally and physically handicapped. Initially, the Hitler Youth did not teach these things but it was slowly creeping in the rules and laws. Membership was voluntary at first in 1933 but by the end of 1936 it was compulsory for all German youths between ten to eighteen years old. Eventually Sophie and Hans did everything to stay away from the group.

SCHOLL FAMILY:

Here is a little background about the Scholl family and Sophie. Sophie Scholl came from a Christian background where her father, Robert Scholl, was a mayor and was a somewhat religious but a very morally ethical man but his wife was a woman of prayer and loved Jesus Christ very much. Sophie’s mother greatly influenced and encouraged her children seek counsel and solace in biblical study. The family loved reading books, especially Sophie and Hans- actually, the majority of the library consisted of books that the two siblings owned. Some of the major writers that influenced them included the philosopher Aristotle. As a family, they stood for justice and believed in it to the death.

HANS SCHOLL:

Franz Muller, one of Hans’ friends said something I loved about him:

“He was highly educated and had leadership qualities. Hans had no fear. He had no sense of danger. That was very bad…If you have NO FEAR you can have a CLEAR VISION. BUT IT IS DANGEROUS.”

SOPHIE SCHOLL:

As the discrimination arose in the country and in ever sphere of life in the culture, Sophie at fourteen years old began verbalizing about the injustice in the concentration camps in her school and her doubts toward Hitler:

“How could he not know? They’ve existed for years and were set up by his friends. And why didn’t he use his power to do away with them at once? Why are those who are released from them forbidden on pain of death to tell anything about what they went through?”

Sophie generally would stand up for justice in her classrooms for the Jews as well as for people who suffered injustice. She would openly verbalize the injustice and act against it rather than watching it happen and sit still.

Sophie was undoubtedly a lover of God. She prayed daily at least before bed and God was part of her everyday lifestyle. Sophie would also receive prophetic dreams. In October 1939, she had a dream where she sat in a prison cell with a heavy iron ring around her neck. On Monday February 22, 1943, she received a dream about carrying a child in a long white dress. She was going on a path to the church but that had a steep slope. She held a child in her arms firmly and suddenly her “footing gave way… [she] had enough time to put the child down before plunging into the abyss.” After she woke up, she believed that the child represented the White Rose or the idea of it and that it would continue on even though she would die as she sat in the prison cell before her death sentence was coming.

THE WHITE ROSE:

The White Rose movement eventually rose up because the Nazi regime constantly encroached against organized religion. Beyond that Hans experienced a lot of the discrimination and saw what WWII was doing to the people as he was forced to serve in the war. The siblings started to notice the freedom that they were losing as a nation and the people of Germany were constantly living in fear because of the many laws and regulations in the land. People could not share their political stance, unless it was like Hitler’s, and non-pure Germans were being discriminated publicly and questioned. And of course, Jews were placed in concentration camps and such.

Eventually, Sophie came alongside her brother, the leader, and supported his ideas. In many of her letters to Fritz Hartnagel, her boyfriend who was a sergeant or general in the army (basically one of the main leaders of armies), she emphasized the importance of Christian values and the right to religious freedom as key elements in any moral regeneration of Germany. Hans was also being influenced by his visits to many scholars that were deemed “politically unreliable” and were forbidden by the Nazis from publishing books. One of them was Theodor Haecker, a 63-year-old Catholic scholar, who believed that National Socialism was an “alternative religion to Christianity.” The idea of the need for a “spiritual resistance” to National Socialism- which informed the views of [people like] Haecker- were “very important philosophical influences on [Sophie and Han’s] own moral, intellectual and spiritual journey towards active opposition.”

However, religion was not the only thing that influenced their protest. Afred von Martin and Josef Furtmeier were “The Philosopher” who suggested a need for active resistance to the Nazi regime by shaking the Germans through propaganda.

There were several key people that were involved in The White Rose. Sophie can be described as the heart while Hans is the thinker behind it. Christopher Probst was also helping the organization write the leaflet campaigns. Alexander Schmorell also provided a protable US-made Remington typerwriter for the first leaflet even though Hans wrote it on his own.

The organization as a whole was very small and consisted of less than ten main people before the siblings were beheaded. Its aim was a non-violent “passive resistance” toward the Fuhrer (Hitler) and his ideology through leafleting campaigns through letters and also phone calls through our modern-day Yellowbook. (The leaflets were written papers that state its political stance and encourage its people to join its resistance.)

The following is the most provocative, which is the third leaflet out of the six, that they sent throughout the nation:

“Sabotage in armament plants and war industries. Sabotage in all gatherings, rallies, public ceremonies and organizations in the National Socialist Party. Obstruction in the smooth running of the war machine… sabotage in all areas of science and scholarship which further the continuation of the war- in universities, technical schools, laboratories, research institutes or technical bureaus… Sabotage in all branches of the arts… Sabotage in all [media]… Try to convince all your acquaintances, including those of the lower social classes, the senselessness of continuing, of the hopelessness of the war, of our spiritual enslavement at the hands of the National Socialists, of its destruction of all moral and religious values and urge them to PASSIVE RESISTANCE.”

Eventually, the Nazi regime and its commanding officers placed a criminal charge for treason over their heads and the Gestapo wanted to track down the group behind the leaflets. The Gestapo in Munich, where the siblings reside and sends out their leaflets, established a special task force headed by Robert Mohr to bring about a “speedy arrest” of the leaders and make an example out of them.

THE INVESTIGATION AND DEATH SENTENCE:

Eventually, the group leaders were arrested, investigated, and finally beheaded by the guillotine device. However, throughout the whole investigation and the court appearance at the People’s Court in February 1943, Sophie remained calmed, peaceful, and very steadfast in her ideology. Robert Mohr, the skilled Gestapo investigator for The White Rose special task force, said he was impressed by her intelligence, courage, justice-cry, incredible strength of character, her unwavering love and faith in God, and treated her well. He even offered her “an off the record” interrogation to persuade her to admit that she did not agree with brother’s ideology and admit that she was only an assistant. He offered her a chance to live but she refused saying she could not betray her own brother. She believed that her sentence should be the same as her brother. Sophie chose to die for her principles and to stand with her brother. Robert was remorseful that such an intelligent-young girl was going to be killed but he granted her wish.

Roland Freisler was their judge who was known as the most notorious and terrifying judge in Nazy Germany. He was the president of the People’s Court, where he gave the death sentence to 1,192 people in the FIRST YEAR. He was Hitler’s special man to handle cases in the court that would defy him as a Fuhrer and the war efforts. All of his trials were extremely quick and very demeaning.

The judge, as a custom, gave the defendants the last words. Hans last words in the court were, “Today you will hang us, but soon you will be standing where I now stand.” Sophie also stated, “What we wrote and said is believed by many others. They just don’t dare to express themselves as we did… You know the war is lost. Why don’t you have the courage to face it?”

As they were assisted out of the court, their parents and brother managed to gatecrash into the non-public proceedings. Their father shouted, “There is a higher court [God’s] before which we must all stand,” and their mother nearly fainted as she received the announcement about her children’s death sentence. Their parents somehow through favor were able to visit their children in the visiting room. Magdalence Scholl said to her daughter, “Remember Jesus,” and Sophie replied, “Yes. But you [remember Him] too.” Those were her last words to her parents.

As they were sitting in their separate cells, Sophie was visited first by the prison chaplain. The man encouraged her to the read the bible, and the first passage she read out loud was from 1 Corinthians 13:8-13:

“8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

The last words she heard before she entered the anteroom were, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for your friends” (John 15:13). And the last words that Hans defiantly shouted before the blade fell were, “Long live FREEDOM!”

AFTER-EFFECT:

In mid-1943 (about three to four months after the execution), a copy of the sixth leaflet was smuggled out of Germany through Scandinavia to the UK by German jurist Helmuth von Moltke, where it was utilized by the Allied Forces. They dropped millions of propaganda copies over Germany of the tract, now retitled The Manifesto of the Students of Munich.

There are over 190 school named in Sophie Scholl’s honor including the schools they went to, Ulm Gymnasium. Their motto is, “We stand up against injustice.”

SOME OF MY FAVORITE QUOTES:

“Youth must not be seduced into silence when conscience demands it must speak.” – The Author and His Time by Ernst Wichert.

“Where books are burned, they will ultimately also burn human beings.”- Book of Songs by Heinrich Heine.

“God was your insight into yourself. He was the only mirror you could see and understand yourself with clarity.”- Sophie Scholl

“”How can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause. Such a fine, sunny day, and I have to go, but what does my death matter, if through us thousands of [youths] are awakened and stirred to action?” – Sophie Scholl

Saint Patrick’s Easter Story that led to Evangelism in Ireland

“Upon landing back in Britain [where Patrick was led by a dream], Patrick returned to the village where he had been a slave. His intent was that his first convert would be the man who had been his master, Milchu. But when he arrived there, he found Milchu’s home in ashes. At word of his coming, Milchu had gathered all of his possessions into his home and lit it on fire, killing himself in the flames. Patrick was horror-struck at the madness of this act and determined to act dramatically to release these people from the fear of false gods that would drive a man to do such a thing.

Patrick spent some time preaching to the locals there and finding out what had happened since his departure and who was in power. His years as a slave had served him well, as he still spoke their language fluently and with little accent, making it easy to communicate. In his conversations with the slaves he learned that the high king of Ireland, King Laeghaire, would be celebrating the Druidic feast of Beltine, which coincided with Easter that year, at his courts in Tara. Patrick headed there immediately, intent on making a statement for the power of God over the idols and occult practices that bound these people.

It was traditional that on the eve of the festival, it would be the high kind who lighted the first bonfire of the festival. Any who defied this would be put to death. Yet as the king emerged that night to start the festival, Patrick’s bonfire was already glowing brightly for all to see on the hilltop of Slane not far away. As had Elijah before the prophets of Baal, Patrick had uttered a formal challenge to the Druids and their king.

As Laeghaire gave the order for the perpetrators to be found and killed, his two Druidic high priests offered him a word of caution and prophecy: “O king, live forever. This fire, which has been lit in defiance to the royal edict, will blaze forever unless it is put out this night on which it has been lit. The man who lit the fire and the coming kingdom by which it was lit will overcome us all!” But the king would hear none of it. He had twenty-seven chariots prepared, and he, high guests, and his court rode to subdue Patrick.

When the chariots arrived, Patrick was summoned before the king. The king ordered Patrick’s bonfire extinguished, but no matter what his soldiers did, the fire refused to be put out. Patrick gave a bold testimony for Jesus before them and refused to be silent. When Laeghaire commanded his soldiers to execute Patrick to quiet him, confusion descended on them, and they attacked one another. When the two Druid priests then turned their vehemence on Patrick and Jesus’ name, one fell and cracked his head on a rock, while the other somehow fell into the fire and perished. One version even records that when the king himself pulled his sword to slay Patrick, his arm froze in the air as stiff as a statue and stayed that way until he knelt in surrender to Patrick. Though it is unclear how many of the details of this encounter are legend and how many of the actually happened, Patrick’s victory over Laeghaire and his Druids opened the political doors of Ireland to the Gospel.”

Running the Extra Mile

The law sets a standard of what is right and wrong. Love fulfills all requirements of the law and goes the extra mile. Grace is the extra mile that God uses to show us His love. So go the extra mile not just to do the right. How many more miles will you run for Love? At LoveHOP, we are about to run another mile for Love to show our generation the Love of God in all purity! We are coming into agreement to take an example of purity and love in a culture and a generation where perversion is celebrated as “cool,” and we are no longer even going to kiss the one we date on the lips. We know that the form is not always a sin but because our culture thinks and derives the form of kissing as that of other evil acts, we choose to not to do it (Ex: If you kiss, you’re probably dating. If you’re dating, you’re probably having sex.).

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.”

Mark 12:33 “And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

Acts 15:11 “But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”

Reverse Confession at CSULB

Reverse Confession was held on CSULB and many students felt the Love of God through it and other Christians loved the heart of it. Justin Hackitt, student leader from the Navigators, got the idea from a book and brought it over. Before he brought it over, several of us have been feeling a prompting in our hearts from the Lord to do something like this in our school for the past year even though Justin did not know about it so the hearts of the people at CSULB would begin to have a more open heart to the testimonies and Love of God. Some of us had the opportunity to talk to professors and many students through the event. Jordan Jacobsma, a student from CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) and I had an opportunity to talk to one anthropologist professor name Linda Light for over 45 minutes. She began changing her views about people as being comparable in value to nature (people and you are special), women seen as slaves in the Bible (there are many women leaders), and that our “moral DNA” just came out of nowhere (it came from God).

This video and event was held on Wednesday, April 27th.
